Now. . . Ain't That Some Shhhh!

If you've been reading this blog, you are well aware of the situation I was involved in with Dennis Hobson on February 8, 2011. Well, the Lumberton Police Department has decided to reward Lumberton's Most Controversial Officer with a take home car. Are you serious? It seems that Timothy Johnson, Bobby Gibson and Rebecca Hale threatened the Chief of Police with their numbers (they have enough votes to fire him) and instructed him that Dennis "The Menace" Hobson would be taking home a car because he don't have transportation to and from work. So let me get this right, he don't have any transportation, so the City of Lumberton if footing the gas for this man to go where ever he pleases. Now ain't that some shit! This man is a threat to public safety and they are giving him the keys to the city. Giving officers take home cars is not in the budget and when did it become the responsibility of a municipality to provide transportation for it's employees? The officer that's on call don't have a take home car and senior officers don't have a take home car, but our aldermen want to congratulate Hobson for the threats he lauded against me and they, along with the Chief, are rewarding him with a take home car with a free gas card that's paid for by the citizens of Lumberton. But let me get this correct; the same aldermen that cut salaries of most police officers because of budget restraints, the same aldermen that let a certified court clerk leave because of budget restraints, the same aldermen that laid off Betty Speights and terminated Harry Wilkes because of budget restraints now are forcing the chief to give officers patrol cars to take home because they either don't have transportation or are having trouble with their transportation. When was a vote taken on this matter and I thought aldermen were not permitted, by State Law, to have any dealings with the day to day activities of any departments. So, with that being said; if the chief gave Hobson and any other officer a take home car; he basically did it because he wanted to. Period. I can blame the aldermen, but we all know snakes do what snakes do; so I'm not suprised by anything that Tim, Rebecca and Bobby do; legally, or ethically because they seem to think that they are above the law. And as far as the conversation the chief had with Johnson in front of "The Store" as well as the conversation he had with Gibson,; if they had threatened to terminate him because he decided against allowing Hobson to have a car, then they would have been hard pressed to terminate him because he would have had a case against them, but the game of politics has made some people lose sight of what's really at stake. If someone could answer when did it become the responsibility of the municipality to provide transportation for it's employees because they don't have transportation or because they are having car trouble, I will gladly shut down this blog and publically apologize to anyone I offened through the publication of my posts. Every state within this country is dealing with budget cuts, but just a few months ago, several people had their salaries cut, several people lost their jobs because the City of Lumberton publically stated that they didn't have the funding to keep them on payroll. But now they have found the golden egg and have allowed officers to take home patrol cars--a move that didn't come before the public for a vote and a move that was not included in the police department's budget. As a matter of fact, Rebecca wanted to give Hobson her car so he could get back and forth to work. He lives in Hillsdale not the Himalyas. I remember when Stanley from the public works department rode a bike to work; why didn't the aldermen intervene to make sure he had a way to get to and from work? I've laid out the details of what happened, there is supposed to be an investigation, but no one has contacted me regarding the matter; so I'm no longer waiting for the City of Lumberton to do anything about this miscreant, I'm no longer waiting for a response from Lamar County because they have apparently swept the matter under the rug; I'm taking this matter up with the state to see if I could get someone one to take this matter seriously.

  3. In the immortal words of Rage Against the Machine: some of those that work forces are the same who burn crosses...those who died you justify by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites...it is a dangerous world and most of the police I have encountered were screwing teenage girls behind the baseball field back in the day. I'm white but you can bet I have been shaken down by the police simply for being with a black friend...be careful.

I believe your chief of police is the same that is/has had charges of forgery, and several charges of domestic violence. Just what any small city or county needs a wife beating cop.
