Making an M-Pact

On Monday, Jamyria "My-My" Holder started the Mpact Girls Club. Mpact Girls Clubs is a program for winning girls to Jesus Christ through love and acceptance. Mpact Girls Clubs provides an environment of support and accountability while helping girls to develop their gifts and abilities. In addition, girls build lifelong relationships with mentors who encourage girls to be spiritual leaders. Jamaryia said the turn out was good and they are hoping to get the word out and get more girls involved. Be on the look out for more information about the Mpact Girls Club. I was told that their motto is "We want to have an Mpact on the lives of everyone we meet."
Another organization, Over the Top Ministries, is a women's ministry that meet every Wednesday to help women overcome the daily obstacles that may plague their lives. The group has access to several resources to help women grow in their day to day lives. Also, the members of Gateway will have mid-week services tonight at 7:30 p.m.
I like that there are groups available to help women of all ages, but I'm concerned about the lack of programs available to the young men. The young boys of our community are crying out for help and someone needs to answer that call. We need men that are willing to mentor the next generation, instruct them about the importance of education, help them to rely on the buddy system, teach them to think before they act, instruct them on how to be an individual with their own identify and show them how to give back to their communities. Are men being left out of ministry? Where are the Man-Up Organizations or Boyz II Men programs to help our young men deal with the issues of life? Kudos to the women of Gateway for the strides they're making with the Over the Top Ministry and to Jamaryia Holder for her Mpact Girls Club but it's time for the men to step up and train up the next generation of men. Who will answer that call?
