It Takes Two to Tango. .Or So I Thought???

I'm still having some issues with getting the auditor's report I requested, but I won't give up until I get my hands on a copy of the report. I really don't know what the big problem is. The other week when Paige Johnson wrapped up the meeting with the board, she handed Stephanie a stack of bonded reports. Therefore, it shouldn't have been an issue with getting me a copy of the auditor's report since you had at least seven bound copies at your fingertips. I started thinking about the things that are taking place at city hall and I was getting concerned about Sue. I wondered how all the things taking place were affecting her. Then I realized that Sue is not the one causing the friction at city hall. . her boss is. When push comes to shove, Sue has the assurance that everything move she made was instructed by the city clerk. There has been talk of money missing from the office, employees insurance being cancelled and a litany of other accusations, but when looking at the big picture, I realized that Sue's hands are clean. When this board reappointed workers at city hall, they instructed Sue to get some additional training. It's not Sue's fault that they haven't sent her to get more training. Sue does not prepare payroll and Sue is not responsible for sending in insurance payments, child support payments or for calculating comp time and overtime. It has been said that Sue has received some additional overtime and comp time in exchange for her silence, but again, Sue is not the one preparing payroll and people usually don't complain about receiving more money; they complain when their money is short. There's been talk about certain people getting breaks when it comes to their water bills. Again, it's not going to fall on Sue when the matter surfaces. At times, the finger pointing and name calling has gotten out of hand. I may have said some unflattering things about Sue in the past, and I would like to apologize for those statements. Since starting this blog, I have made some new friendships and ended some old ones, but throughout this process, Sue's level of professionalism has never wavered. The fact that Sue is professional and respectful is a sure sign that she has nothing to hide. Generally, people become defensive when they have something to hide.
There are some odd things taking place at city hall and sooner or later, what's done in the dark will come to light. I am almost certain that more employees, other than Cassandra Fortenberry and Harry Wilkes, have had their insurance cancelled because of non-payment. The City of Lumberton employees need to check their insurance now because there's a chance that their insurance is cancelled as well. Danny Davis brought Harry Wilkes before the board several times for termination and they refused to terminate his employment, but when Harry became ill and found out that his insurance was cancelled, Stephanie convinced the board that Harry Wilkes violated the city's personnel policy and he was terminated. I think Rachel Jefferson said it best when she said that this board needs to "stop looking for employees that are loyal Stephanie, but need to start looking for employees that are loyal to the City of Lumberton."

  1. I see that you are back to "bashing Stephanie". For a while you were not, but I guess you decided to attack her character again without getting her side of the issues. Bound copies of an audit are probably for the city, state, etc. If you check with other cities you will probably find out they copy the audits for the public too. That was probably the reason you had to wait for a copy. Did you even ask Stephanie or Sue why the bound copies were not issued to the public? Besides I am sure the mayor got her copy the night the auditor gave copies to the city. And as close and you and the mayor are, I am sure you have already seen her copy. I understand she was with you at the library the day you posted this blog. Maybe she helped you write it, since she loves to bash Stephanie too. People like you get a thrill out of trying to ruin someone's character and good name. But I don't see Stephanie bashing your character. You need to clean up around your own back door before bashing other people. I am sure this will never be posted, but at least you will know how one of Stephanie's many friends and supporters feel. Bedsides, the talk around town this week is not about Stephanie but about someone who was caught with a married man.

  2. Why do you keep harping on money missing at city hall. If there were any money missing, the auditor would have found it. And if Stephanie were guilty, which she is not, she would have been arrested.

I have sat back and kept my mouth shut for over a year while you bash my name, my character, and my christianity! I just have one question Mr. Informer.....Why blog such a lie AFTER you called the office to ask if your copy of the audit was ready and Sue told you yes it was ready for you to pick up. You love to stir the pot with your little stirrers. Yes Paige handed me several binded copies of the audit. They were for the Mayor and Aldermen, one for the office, two to send to the State and one for each grant file. Yes the paper stated they were available to the public. IT IS CALLED A PUBLIC RECORD REQUEST! It is a process set forth by the State. I have by law seven days to process the request. There is a .25 charge per page and reasearch time of $9.00 per hour. The audit is 68 pages. And I would also like to state for the record....if there were ANY fraud found in the audit, the auditors have to call the State and they would send investigators down ASAP. It has been over two weeks since the auditors report were given. If I had stolen 88K as your mother stated during a meeting, do you honestly think I would still be working and not in jail somewhere???? So please sweep your own back door before spreading rumors and lies about me and my office!! Thank you and I will continue to pray for you and all my enemies! God Bless!

  4. Those three comments are so similiar it makes you think that they were all written by the same person. To the first commentor, I did ask for a copy of the audit and for some reason I wasn't given one, but on the same day, I went ot Sumrall just to prove a point and received a bonded copy of the report, just like the one Paige left for Stephanie to hand out, but for some reason, they're not available. I see Stephanie has managed to put down her phone long enough to compose a few sentences. You don't have 7 days to respond to this request because it was listed in the Lamar Times that the reports are "ready" for pick up. Or was the paper lying??? Now I see why the minutes for the City of Lumberton are so messed up. . .the statement was made about the 88K was a reference to what Paige stated as a loss in the water department, and I'm sure it's reflected in the auditor's report, which I have not received. For the record, the booklets that Pagie gave you were left over AFTER the mayor and aldermen received their copies, but for the sake of your trail of lies lets say the 15 copies were for the mayor and aldermen, that still leaves 10 copies. Now after one copy for the office, two copies for the State Auditor's office and four copies for each grant file (which is an overexaggeration but for since you wanted to justify your lie, I will overestimate the number for your benefit), that give us a grand total of 12 copies, which means that there are still 3 copies available to give out to the public. I am familar with the PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST and after filling out the request, you should have put down the sauage biscuit and handed me one of the three remaining copies, but that would have been too much like doing the RIGHT thing. And for the record, I thought that office belonged to the City of Lumberton.

  5. I almost forgot to address the comment about that said the mayor was at the library with me the day this was posted, I guess to someone "we all look alike" because the first time I saw the may since her surgery was at church this week. Hey, they say everyone has a twin, what's the probability that they're living in the same city. . probably zilch. . just another tactic to try to find a way to blame the mayor.

Mr. Informer, I know you think you have all the answers, but there is nothing you can say that will change the things that happened. Yes you were the first person to request a copy of the auditor's report and yes there are some additional copies, but there is nothing in the law that states I must give a citizen a copy of the original report. Did you really think I was going to give you a free copy after all the things you said about me on the Lumberton Informer? You made a good case, but the more you blog about me the more support I receive from the aldermen. They rely on me for all of their information. I have their FULL support because I don't need to give them a copy of the attorney general's opinion, I can tell them that I made a phone call and they will vote in my favor. I can text, attend my daughter's practice session, and take multiple breaks throughout the day and nothing will be said. Thanks to your blog, I can place a letter in the aldermen's packets every month telling them that I wasn't able to complete my work and it's accepted. They need me because I run interference between them and Mrs. Holder. It's my job to make sure the board gets all the credit when things go well and to make sure that Mrs. Holder gets all the blame whenever there's a glitch. So, I hope you think that you're successful and brining about a change because I'm still going to MML conferences and will have the support of this board and the next board to get and keep my requested salary increase and my request for more time off to attend conferences. Now back to the issue of the auditor's report, there is a .25 charge per page and reasearch time of $9.00 per hour. The audit is 68 pages. Your copy is ready for pick-up and your fee will be $26.00.

  7. All I can say is WOW! The cost of getting a copies of the auditor’s report .25/per page; the charge for research (despite the fact that the clerk admitted that additional copies are available) $9.00/hour; having lying, manipulative, self-centered, non-professional city clerk admit that she’s a lying, manipulative, self-centered, non-professional. . .PRICELESS. Since she’s finally admitted to some of her dirt, I might just leave her out of the future blogs. I knew that something was going on with the auditor’s reports, but despite all of your efforts, I will get my copy. I will not let your tactics keep me from seeing what’s in the report. Hey, it is what it is but I will fret not because . . . soon!

  8. The City of Lumberton has a wonderful city clerk. She works long, hard hours to keep the city's business straight. She's a good, loving, Christian lady. The city got a great audit report; the result of her hard work. On judgement day, I would hate to be in the shoes of those spreading lies about her.

  11. So the last poster before me wishes Stephanie's children and family to "feel the pain and harassment". What a wonderful thing, to wish pain on children. No matter what Stephanie's supposed crimes/misdeeds, to wish pain on children is lower than low. And maybe all her critics should look to pulling the 2x4's out of their eyes before going after the speck in hers.

  12. Out of thine own mouth....
Thank You Stephanie for being honest and feeling like you're above the law.
Confessions are good for the soul and the courts.
Come on and spill it about all this insurance stuff. What really happened with all that money? Did the insurance company really screw up?
    Come on tell it.
