Last night when I went to the Ben Barrett Voting Center to watch the counting of the vote, I entered the building about 10 minutes before the polls closed and the picture above is what I saw. Throughout the day, many people expressed their concerns that the poll workers didn't match the demographics of the City of Lumberton. I shrugged it off after someone texted me, assuring me that the election was going to be fair. Well, that was not the case. Later in the day, a voter came to me with evidence that the votes had been compromised. They gave me two torn affidavit ballots that were torn up and thrown in the trash in the women's restroom at the voting center. Interesting. There was another person that came to me about the conversation they overheard between Cora Rogers and her mother, Voncile Richardson. In case you missed the “live” feed from last night’s audit report, here’s a recap of what happened. We were informed that the current city clerk, Merlene Wall, does not know the difference between credit, debit and she does not know how to use BBI. Charlene Kerkow of Wright, Ward, Hatten and Guel didn’t hold back any details when she outlined the sheer incompetence of Merlene Wall’s inability to perform the necessary duties of a municipal city clerk. Charlene said we were a ship headed for a mine field with no one in charge. I must say that I concur. For years, I have talked of Merlene’s incompetence and I was overjoyed to have a CPA reiterate everything I said over the years; Merlene is incapable of doing this job. She’s inept, incompetent, unintelligent idiot that lacks integrity because if she had an ounce of integrity she would admit that the job is too much for her and resign. Here we go again. I was hoping against hope that the special election to fill the seat vacated by David Kent Crider would be free of any corruption but it seems that’s not going to be the case. I guess when the Geritol Gang got away with stealing a mayoral election, they loved the taste of blood. Just moments ago, I was informed that people were congratulating Johnnie Buckley on becoming the new alderman of Ward 1and there were saying he was getting sworn in on Monday, February 1, 2016. I was like, hold the presses, there were others that submitted paperwork to run for that position. So, how in the corrupt government of Lumberton is he getting sworn in without an election? It seems that the Lumberton Election Commissioner, Linda Martin, has decided that the other candidate didn’t get enough signatures from Ward 1 residents to qualify to run for the position.
