Who You Gonna Blame Now?

I can always tell when the end of Spring Break is near. Generally, you don't hear a peep from the chirren, but as soon as it's time to go back to school, they start to "Wild Out." I remember going on trips during Spring Break but I guess things have changed. I also remember being forced to do Spring Cleaning during the first few days of Spring Break and you really know things have changed. I don't even know if this generation know anything about the Saturday morning cleaning rituals with Al Green blasting in the background, windows up, curtains open. You would be strung out, and must clean everything, even under the beds. But the times, they are a changing. The generation of today have more things but less responsibility. Recently, there has been a lot of changes at Frank Lee Homes. There's a new manager and he's doing some awesome things. I think he's even working on getting rid of the antiquated ban list. Personally, I don't know why those listed on that list never challenged the legality of the list in the first place, but it goes to show that some people just don't care about clearing their names. First of all, there are people that have been on that list seemingly forever, and one would think, at some point, the ban would expire, but as long as it was left unchallenged, the list remanined. Hopefully, with the cleansing of the list, those that were permanent fixtures on the list will see this as a new opportunity to do better. Finger crossed. Now, there's a lot of new residents at Frank Lee and whenever another family is added to the fray, the dynamics of the neighborhood changes. There are those that are fine with staying in their units and not disturing their neighbors, but there are also those that love to be seen. Some people pay good money to stay there and there are some that are getting paid to stay there. What has me confused is, why would anyone want to display what they're doing. No one knows what goes on in your apartment, but for some reason, people love to put on a show for others. The recent gambling rings and the trail of back door visitors will put you in the scope of management. Don't think that you're immune to getting evicted because the manager happens to be black. He has a boss that he has to answer to. Also, by having a black manager, the ability to yell racism has been taken out of the equation. In addition to trying to ascribe blame to others, those moving in no longer have the ability to blame Dexter for getting evicted. They can no longer say Dexter is telling their bizzness because he's not on the site any longer; which is evident by the large amount of litter that's floating around the property. Gone are the days when there was a maintenance worker that picked up trash every morning. Gone are the days of saying this person or that person is snitching. Let's be clear, if the amount of gambling on the green transformers has increased since you came onto the property, then you must be a contibuting factor. Sooner or later, it's going to be determined if they are your guest. And for those of you moving into Frank Lee Homes, you may want to check the track record, the majority of the people that have been evicted, were evicted because of their guest and/or unauthorized individuals living in their units (meaning, they're not on your lease). So, if you're living la vida loca, and you're not on the lease, you may want to keep a low profile. Now, there are people that are going to hang out and wild out; that's a given. However, if they're on the corner acting a donkey, then that's an issue for the LPD to handle and trust, if an officer drives past the corner and see an bunch of individuals looking like they're about to audition for the remake of roots and they don't tell them to move along, and a "No Loitering" sign is posted, then those officers also has someone they are accountable to. So, for all of you that think you can game the system but you can't even keep your children in line, trust and believe, you will eventually get caught. For those that live at Frank Lee Homes (officially and unofficially), when you moved in, you signed a 14 pages of documents with your obligations to management. And for those of you that signed a lease, you will also notice that of those documents you signed, there was about 1/2 a page of management's obligation to you. Therefore, it would behoove you to be aware of your actions because your actions could lead to you looking for another place to stay. This is not to say that you are a prisoner in your home, but your activities cannot cause any disturbances in the "peaceful enjoyment" of others. So, if you have rowdy friends, relatives, boyfriends that like to play window-shaking music all through the night, etc., then Frank Lee Homes may not be the place for you. Therefore, before you go blaming others, you may want to evaluate your actions. If you have a porch full of people day and night and don't think it's noticed; think again. If you think by having your guest go to the back door, that it's not noticed; think again. If the 90% of the people using the green transformers as a lounge/dice table are the same ones that's generally in your unit; don't think it's not noticed. If you're willing to break the rules then be willing to accept the reprecussions that comes with breaking those rules. And when you're caught, you must relaize that you only have yourself to blame.
