Thankful for a new year and a new opportunity to blog more in 2013. There are some that say I'm too negative and I should focus on the more positive things that are taking place in Lumberton and to that I say, show me the positive things in Lumberton and I would be more than happy to share them with the readers of this blog. We live in a culture where we cry wolf or try to label a person because they don't share the same beliefs we share. You may not like my point of view, but once you get past the fact that you're taking the things I say personally, you may be able to view the forest after all. For the record, there are some positive things happening in Lumberton. Soon, we will have another restaurant, Chinese Wok, the work has begun on the Senior Living Complex, Azalea Gardens and the Main Street Renovation project has been completed. Thankfully, this is an election year and hopefully, we will have a set of candidates that are willing to work together for the City of Lumberton and not just for personal gain. I have seen several people asking for support and they are already saying things like "we need to stick together" or "we need to take OUR town back." Needless to say, these individuals are not the ones for Lumberton. Before throwing their hat into the political ring, they are already making this election into a matter of us vs. them. Sadly, we have already witnessed the chilling effect of self-serving politics. If the people running for office are not willing to make the tough decisions, then they are not needed in the City of Lumberton. I will try to be fair and open during this year of blogging but I can't say that my personal feeling won't spill into the conversation from time to time. I have endured a lot of ridicule as a result of this blog, but I will continue until I feel it is no longer necessary. I realize that I have an unorthodox methodology and people generally view me in 1 of 2 ways. There are those that consider me brave; especially after my battle with Hobson and Mullings (and their supportive board members, Gibson, Crider and Johnson. And there are those that try to label me as either a racist/socialist and or just plain crazy. The truth of the matter is I'm probably a little mixture of all of thee above sans racist. I still haven't figured how I was labeled with that title but rest assured, the fact that I have disdain for a person of another race does not make me a racist but if it gives you pleasure to say that I am then by all means, continue to quote your scriptures and call me a racist. . .I love blogging and will not be discouraged by the fact that some of your carbon copy individuals thing you can fit my hexagonical life into your square pegs. Weather you consider me heoric or crazy, I still have ans will continue to make a difference. There are time when I get discouraged but all the bad ish people say about me is worthless because I'm not defined by the thoughts of others. I'm like no one else on this planet and I know that I have a life of purpose. (Romans 8:28). So this is my first post for 2013. . stay tuned for God's plan concering me as well as the City of Lumberton. Wiping the slate clean for 2013.
