S.O.S.: Save Our School

Image
There's a group that's getting together to see if they can help save the Lumberton School District. I'm not sure if the school could be saved. At this point, I'm not sure IF the school should be saved but I will see what they're planning and if I can offer any assistance, I will. I don't have all the information at this moment but I just wanted to let you know there's a group that's working to form a committee to see what could be done to keep a school in the City of Lumberton. I will post more details as they become available. If you're interested in helping, please let me know and I will pass along your information. #PantherProud

Disclaimer: Please note that the photos used for this post are students that gave me an invitation. As you know that graduation is a time of celebrating your achievement, the end of school, a finishing point and the start of a new life. You will be celebrating the start of another living and you are well skilled, so it is the beginning of some challenges. Do not consider your degree as a ticket to a better living but take it as a ticket to modify the earth.Tell yourself that you will get to a higher level no matter how difficult it is and you’ll fly above the sky like an eagle also because of this information that you gained. You will act differently if you tell yourself that graduation continues on till you die. Whatever situation or problem you encounter along the way, it shall bring you light at the end. There is nothing that will now end your journey of making your life look bright and beautiful once you have graduated. As you enter this new phase of your life, pray that God will gi…

The WALL of DESOLATION

If some changes are not made soon….the City of Lumberton will be headed to bankruptcy court because of years of mis-management. Since 2014, the City of Lumberton has been spiraling out of control with no fiduciary responsibility because there’s an inept city clerk in charge of the finances. It’s sad to think that Merlene Wall will become a certified city clerk in June but she cannot prepare a budget, she cannot tell you what’s in the accounts…hell…she don’t know the name of all the accounts because some essential accounts were closed because she wasn’t capable of keeping them separated. I know you have heard of the talented athlete that was promoted year after year, despite their inability to read/write or function off the field. Well, that’s what’s happening here in Lumberton but we don’t have a talented athlete leading us to victory. Instead we have an incompetent, paper-trail creating, mis-interpertator of ordinances, violator of Open Meeting Laws, corruptor of elections, fail…

Con-Game In Progress

At the end of April 5, 2016 board meeting, it was announced that the board was going into executive session to discuss possible litigation. The Mississippi Open Meetings Act permits the board to discuss litigation (prospective or actual) during executive session but after it was discovered that the possible litigation involved Bobby Gibson's attempt to extort (verb meaning obtain (something) by force, threats, or other unfair means) $1,000 from the City of Lumberton, Lindsey Carter (see video posted) recanted on May 3, 2016 and said that they did not discuss possible litigation during the April 5, 2016 board meeting. However, he said that the matter involving Bobby Gibson and the land dispute on 5th Avenue is a legal matter. (Insert expletive) where? The ownership of land is public record and as you can see from the receipt I received from the Lamar County records room, Bobby Gibson owns the land that is located smack dab in the middle of 5th Avenue Park, Lumberton, MS but the p…
