Call Lamar County: What Can Brown Do For You?

The incident from Friday seems to be a never ending saga, but the more I blog about the subject, the more information I receive. Apparently, Byrd knew me before I knew him. He allegedly told a fellow officer that "I'm going to get that fat mother!@#$ just as soon as Hobson give me the go ahead." Seriously??? If Byrd was such a stickler for the law, then he would have done his job, but it's becoming more and more apparent that I am being targeted by Team Hobson. (Trust, all of you, including Bobby Gibson, will be on my subpoena list.) You can lie under oath, but that will be your choice. Hobson thought his term would be a piece of cake, and he thought no one would care if they just targeted me, but they are also targeting others in the community. Just the other night, they arrested a student on scholarship for something that could have been resolved with a little mediation. Like I said, they are targeting any and everyone they can and don't be surprised when they start targeting your friends and loved ones.
I don't know who's advising Hobson, but he need to read up on Lumberton's history of Police Chiefs. Those that don't know their history are doomed to repeat it. Chief Rita Pickering and Chief Mike Childress came in with the same mindset as Hobson and now they both have Chinese names "One-gone" and his tactics will also land him in that same category. Hobson think he's making a name for himself, but every time he harasses a citizen or send his rogue officers out to harass citizens, he's reminding everyone that Bobby Gibson and Timothy Johnson supported his promotion to chief and that's not going to sit well with voters.
Personally, I think it's time to put an end to the Lumberton Police Department and contract the Lamar County Sheriff's Department to police the City of Lumberton. We are still in the budgeting process and most of Lumberton's budget is spent on the police department. The Lumberton Police Department has $341,840 budgeted for salary, $34,000 budgeted for the chief of police (an increase of the amount paid to Chief Fortenberry), $54,000 budgeted for part-time, certified officers, $9,800 budgeted for part-time, non-certified officers, $47,858 budgeted for incidental, $50,000 budgeted for postage, computers, etc., $12,000 for vehicle maintenance, $18,000 for insurance, $20,000 for capital outlay, and another $19,000 for a police clerk. The total budget for the Lumberton Police Department is over $600,000 and that's almost half of the city's budget. It's time for the city to look into alternative means of police protection. They can turn the Lumberton Police Department into a sub-station for the Lamar County Sheriff's office and get rid of all those cars (and get rid of all the maintenance/fuel cost associated with having so many cars). I know we are near the deadline for submitting the new budget, but it's time to get serious about the lawless individuals patrolling the streets of Lumberton; especially those carrying badges.

  1. I know you all are trying to do good and Jonathan is asking people to come to the meetings and voice their concerns, but let's get real for a minute. The majority of the people reading this blog are of the Caucasian persuasion and they're the one's that get upset; especially if he starts talking about our beloved Stephanie. I don't think there's any black people reading this blog, and those that are reading it don't live in Mississippi. And the main reason why no one from Jonathan's community is going to come to his defense is because Jonathan is not liked by his "peeps." He can keep talking and until he get some white people on his side, it's all going in one ear and out the other. Sorry, but that's da truft.

  2. I think the county SHOULD take over. Lumberton can never find a chief that is fair and balanced. Why does Lumberton have so many police cars? The only vehicle they own that can make it out of the city is the Tahoe aka the Hate Command Center. And would ppl please stop saying that Daniel was the one that abandoned the police car, it was Byrd that ran out of gas. Talk about Byrd-brain or is that shit for brains? Check your gas guages before looking for people to harass, like you did in Pearl River.
