Meeting Cancelled

Several concerned citizens were getting out their cars at City Hall, and were met at the door by other citizens telling them that the meeting had been cancelled. The mayor was also exiting the building and told the citizens that she was just informed that the meeting had been cancelled. What is really going on? Why are these men and women so afraid of meeting with the public? What are they afraid of us finding out? Well, that's good news for those that were facing pay cuts, they have more time at their regular salaries. It's impearative that the citizens of Lumberton attend and demand transparency from their elected officials. A news crew from WDAM was there to interview Mayor Holder to get her reponse to what took place at Monday's meeting and what it's going to take to resolve the issues in the City of Lumberton? Mayor Holder did apologize for her actions at Monday's meeting. They interviewed several citizens, Stephanie Mullens declined to be interviewed, and Kent Crider was trying to escape the camera after coming to city hall 30 minutes after the meeting was cancelled.

One question that was asked by the reporter was "why did you say, I'm going to break this law?" In actuality, no law was broken, but was that the right phrase to use? The only thing that was taken from that interview is that Mayor Holder said I am going to break this law. The audience is not aware of the events that led to this moment in WDAM history. WDAM was not there for the 15 months of disprect that was shown to the mayor as well as the citizens of Lumberton. For the past 15 months, we have had Bobby Gibson, Kent Crider, Timothy Johnson dismiss the voices of the voting public by constantly saying "It doesn't matter, we have the votes." So, my advice to you, Mayor Holder is to not let them push your buttons. We, the citizens of Lumberton, are looking to you for leadership since we know that we are not in the hearts and minds of our aldermen. Mayor Holder, we are here to support you and we support you because of the way you made for us and because of the prayers you prayed for us. You are the one we prayed for, hoping that you would have strength enough, discipline enough, talent enough, and nerve enough to step into the light that is like a lamp unto your feet. Your confidence and your strength are establishing the footsteps for others to follow. Don't allow others to take you off course. You have endured 15 months of disprectful behavior from a board that would rather see you hurt instead of helping the city. I know the story behind what took place on Monday night. I didn't just start attending meetings. But please remember this, Rosa Parks had to sit down to fight injustice and oppression. It's time for you to stand up and do the same.

  1. I read in a local newspaper where Kent Crider is talking for Bobby Gibson.

  2. As a citizen of Lumberton, MS for more than 20 years, every person I have ever seen or met that is in any official power in this town, police, mayor, or aldermen is corrupt and only cares for their own wallets and ideas, anyone trying to speak their mind to them comes under complete scrutiny, being pulled over constantly or denied for new business license applications ect. Any time a new big company wants to build something for jobs which are desperatly needed are turned down. Buildings and apartments owned by these people the rent is set for well over fair. They do not want this town to move forward, they only want their bank accounts to ove forward.

  3. I just want to know what happened to your posts about Ben Winston? Did he get to you? He suffers from the OJ Syndrome and you are not blogging about his actions. I know he didn't murder two ppl, but he assaulted former Mayor Greg Cooley and got away with it, and he brought all of those FEMA trailers into Lumberton and got away with it, thanks in part to his drones on the board. When Rebecca Hale ran she said that she wanted to clean up the main entrances into the city, but she sat there like a lump on the log and did nothing about thoese trailers. There are three reasons why women shouldn't be allowed in politics. 1. Miriam Holder, 2. Nell Busby, 3. Rebecca Hale. Wait there are four reasons: 4. Nancy Pelosi. I know all of this will blow over and ppl with not think about all of this when it's time for the next election. But I know that I will not vote for anther person that says they are a "Christian". Look @ what we have now, and they all claim to be Christians. In all of this, Quincy is the only one acting in the best interest of the city of Lumberton.

  4. Ben has been, is, always will be, who and what he is. I will not say it here. Where is OJ now? He might have gotten buy, but he has not gotten away. I agree with you on everything, but you left something out. You forgot number 5.) Sarah Palin. They claim to be Christians, should not have been why they were elected. None of these jokers know nothing about law. These jokers dance to the tune of someone else. They are puppets for the master puppeteer, Almighty Winston. You are correct, Alderman Rogers is the only one that is acting like the christian man he say he is.
