Cemetery Clean Up Day

Pastor Benjamin Winston of Sweet Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, has announced there will be a Cemetary Clean Up Day for the Love's Addition Cemetery. The clean-up day is scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2012 from 8:00 a.m.--4:00 p.m. Everyone that's concerned about the condition of the area is being asked to bring their tools, lawn mowers, etc. and plenty of energy as they help beautify this area.

  1. I'm glad Ben is making an effort to keep the cemetary clean, but this is what gets me about Lumberton. I thought the cemetary belonged to the City of Lumberton. Why aren't the city workers keeping it clean. It seems that there's no problem with them keeping the one clean across from the high school. I will be there Friday, I wish it was on a Saturday, to help, but why is there still a difference being shown when it comes to the upkeep of city property. If the land does not belong to the City of Lumberton then why did they put up a fence around the entire cemetary?

  2. I'm glad that this is being done. I talked to Tim when he first got into the office about this cemetary but nothing was never done. I even mentioned the tombstones that were broke and threw in the bushes also the casket that was floating up out of the grave. I went to the cemetary a couple of times and they didn't even weedeat around the tombstones. Yes the city workers are suppose to keep it clean. They make sure you pay when you need to bury someone there. Let's see if we can get the park fixed in LQ for the children.
