Do What We Say and We Will Make You Chief

Is there any truth to the rumor that Bobby Gibson, Timothy Johnson and Rebecca Hale promised Dennis Hobson that they would make him Lumberton’s next Chief of Police? According to the information I received, Hobson was allegedly told to hang in there, keep doing what we want you to do (including turning the other way when our family is involved) and you are a sure shot for the chief position. To some, this scenario might seem far-fetched, but to those that are paying attention to what is going on in Lumberton, the scenario is all to real. This recent tip has filled in some missing pieces to the puzzle. That would explain why Bobby Gibson and Hobson are always meeting at Olen Bound’s place of business. No wonder Myrick Avenue has been transformed into the Hub City drag strip; we have our officers attending unofficial meetings with their leader. No only is Gibson serving as Mayor Pro-Tempore, but he’s apparently the supervisor for certain officers of the Lumberton Police Department. Since Timothy Johnson is making the decision to cancel payroll checks, I guess he’s Lumberton’s Chief Accounting Officer. Rebecca is in charge of research and keeping the minutes for their unofficial meetings and Kent Crider is the court jester.( Everytime he blurts out "the attorney general said, the attorney general said" I imagine him in the jester outfit b/c he's truly a clown. He's always saying what the attorney general said, but never has the case number to support his claims; but we all know that he's just repeating what he was told over the phone since he clearly don't have the wherewithal to reseach the information for himself.) I know that there are some that like to sit back and say that I dramatize these events, but I have seen Gibson and Hobson huddled up in their private meetings on more than one occasion. Olen Bound’s place of business has become the new city hall. More meetings and decisions are made in his parking lot than during executive session at a board meeting. Was the decision to suspend Sharese Pearson made at the new city hall? I don’t know, but I find it quite interesting that she was suspended for allegedly threatening our city clerk, but nothing has been done in regards to Hobson making threats towards me. Wait a minute, there was something done. Gibson, Hale, Johnson and Crider made the decision to allow Hobson to take home a patrol car since he was without transportation. Their way of saying “Thank You Hobson for doing something we don’t have the cahones to do.”
