What the Hale Happened?

The last few days, this site was set up differently, and those that received the link will continue to receive the "invite only" posts. I hope you enjoyed the posts from the last few days and I will continue to use your e-mail addresses to send you certain posts. Thank you to those that e-mailed me and you will receive some extra posts in addition to those posted on the public forum. Now, for some of the news you may have missed. Apparently, the husband of Alderwoman Hale found out what happens to a person when he allegedly call a person by something other than the name they were given by their parents. I really don't have all the details, but in the words of Chris Tucker, "You got knocked the. . " well, you know the rest. In the meantime, despite his past behavior/conduct, he was allegedly allowed to sign a post release for some charges that were pending. I wonder why he was treated differently from anyone else that's been arrested in Lumberton? Recently, I've received a lot of e-mails from people that were concerned about the ladies that were left on the side of the highway after the car they were riding in was towed and the person that was coming to retrieve them had to drive all the way from Gulfport, MS. One e-mail stated that there was a pregnant woman in the car, and a woman that recently had some sort of surgery. They even stated that woman's scars were rather visible. Now, I'm not one that would willingly defend the Lumberton Police Department, but from what I heard, the car was towed after a high-speed chase, and since no one in the car was able to talk the driver into slowing down or yielding to the patrol lights, that's probably why they had the car towed.
Today, I found out that we're about to lose another officer on the LPD. Thankfully, this officer was able to gain other employment before his performance record was completely tarnished, but it's sad that we're losing an officer that actually resided in Lumberton and knew the residents of Lumberton. I also received some comments regarding the high volume of tickets that are being written. I really don't know where they're writing these tickets, but all I can say is try and fight the tickets in court. The Lumberton patrol cars are some old dragons and the only thing I could suggest would be for those that received tickets to challenge them in court by requesting to see the records on the radar guns. . when was the last time those radar guns were calibrated, and are they calibrating the radar guns at the start of each shift and do they have the paperwork to match their claims that they have. Now, that was a policy of the police department when Chief Fortenberry was in office; with the changing of the guards, the new officers may not be adhering to that policy. If that's the case, you may be able to challenge the ticket. In the meantime, double check your speed limit, wear your seat belts and document any improprieties that you may have witnessed or been subjected to. No matter how much you stand around and complain, if it's not it writing, there's nothing that could be done.
