With Liberty and Justice for Some

Another regular scheduled board meeting will be held tonight or another night of how many laws can the board break in one meeting while disregarding those they're supposed to be representing. Generally, the agenda is ready the Friday before the board meeting. When Stephanie was city clerk, citizens could go to city hall and get a copy of the agenda after noon on the Friday before the meeting. Based on the white out on my water bill, I seriously doubt copies of the agenda were delivered this past Friday. As a matter of fact, the board may not get a copy of the agenda until today. I don't know if that's a tactic to keep citizens in the dark about those listed on the agenda or just another failure to do ones job. I guess it really doesn't matter since the agendas aren't usually beneficial for the city. It just boggles the mind that a person, allegedly, has time to print copies of my blog and disperse them to the board but never has enough time to print water bills without needing to make corrections with white out and get agendas posted in a timely fashion. Here's another missed opportunity for the board to move forward. I know it probably won't happen, especially with a mayor that wants to track the budget with an abacus and spreadsheet, but it's time to make agendas available online.

The other day, I saw the poctures of the ribbon cutting ceremonies. I noticed Stanley Rayborn has stepped up as 4he president of Ben Winston's LEDC (Lumberton Economic Development Council). Just a couple of months ago, Rayborn resigned from the planning and zoning committee because he felt they were not actively bringing industry to the city. One would think that a person that served as alderman would know that's not the scope of responsibility for a planning and zoning committe. Now that he's presiding over the economic development council, he can bring industry to this city. After all, that's what one would expect of an economic development council. I've also noticed that Alderman Tommy Dukes, Jr. was elected to serve as Vice President. I'm not certain if there's a conflict in holding both posts but with this mayor and board, it really doesn't matter.

I don't know who's coming to make a proposal to save the city but whoever it may be, they will be Googled. Someone said the other day that I'm too harsh and that very well could be true but there's a politically correct version of events printed evey week in the Hattiesburg American. If you don't know by now, I don't sugar coat my views. I know that in order for me to have honey with my nightly cup of camomile tea, someone had to wrestle with some bees. I'm far from obtuse, but I can't imagine why people get upset because I blog about what they say on camera. Now that's obtuse. If they spent half the time they spend worrying/discussing me and this blog and use that time to search for viable solutions for this city, they may actually make some progress. Some ask if I'm afraid they're going to try and file some trumped up charges against me. No. I already know they're working to bring in an unjust judge; someone they can control. I don't doubt that tney have a clerk that's willing to lie, under oath, to try and have me banned because she's allegedly frightened of this overweight brute with a tricky knee and sleep apnea. But I know, the only thing that's frightening is my willingness to tell the truth. I once haf a fear of going to jail but the last board cured that fear when they sent their minions after me. They tried everything to dhut down this blog and all they could do was wait until city hall closed, so I couldn't pay the ticket, and have me arrested for a delinquent parking ticket. The night I was taken to jail, I was in the processing area most of the time, retelling what happened and why I was there. The Lamar County Sheriff's officers were laughing the whole time, saying how stupid Lumberton Police Department was becoming. So, no, I'm no longer fearful of being locked up because of a white lie (pun intended) because if they come for me, they're taking me to the doctor, on their dime. I seriously doubt that I'm going to ask if they can swing by the house and get my CPAP machine before going to Purvis. I know it's cold and despite my aching joints, I will attend tonight's meeting. I don't know what's on tne agenda but once I find out, I will let you know. Hopefully, the cold will help cutrail some of tne monthly shenanigans.

  1. I don't know if you noticed but it just clicked for me. Ben has purchased his support from the board members. Jay is on board bc he get to buy more pills and alcohol with the administrative fees he's given when monitoring grants. The former clerk did it all the time but was never compensated. Kent was given the fire department to run in the ground and that's why he support Ben. Tommy was just given the VP post of the LEDC and that is Ben's organization. Cora is supporting Ben bc she think if he gets elected for the County post she's going to be mayor. Little does she know, she will be mayor for 45 days and the new election will be held to select a permanent mayor. I think you need to look into this bc he's buying votes and turning the board into a mob squad.

  2. If this town does not wake up and smell the coffee. If it wasn't for your blog, this city would be raped by the band of crooks Ben keep calling in for help. I still find it hilarious that Paul Ockmond, 72, couldn't find anything to say about you other than you're fat. He gambled by buying up land and businesses and now he's stuck with them. Why don't he sell them to Ben since he was able to convince him to buy a failed auction business after six months?

  8. Justice for Ben, Tommy, Jay, Aaron and Kent but remember Cora doesn't have a clue. She just want to be Mayor even if it's just for a moment and I really feel sad for her she is working with men who doesn't have respect for women.
