Review of September 1, 2015 Board Meeting: The Steal of the Century Edition

Noticeably absent from the meeting was confessed shoplifter and elected official, Jay McGraw. It was rumored that he was in a treatment facility for PTSD but I think he's in rehab somewhere. Surely, that shoplifting incident didn't tramuatize him since this wasn't his first time getting caught stealing, allegedly. You remember when I said that Jay was too comfortable stealing and how I didn't think it was his first time. Well, I was right. I always wondered why Jay and Melissa fell out and she risked her job by cussing out an alderman. Those of you familiar with Jay McGraw know he spends an excessive amount of time at city hall. Well..........I hate to leave you hanging but the rest of the story will be discussed with my attorney and the other details will be posed as questions when Jay takes the stand to testify about my blog. I'm not sure if Jay McGraw have access to my blog while in rehab or while he's getting treated for PTSD but I can't waste these posts and videos about his history of thievery if he's not going to use them in his steps to recovery, I mean, rehabilitation. So when he's back home, I'll resume my Jay McGraw discussions. It's interesting that this board covered this lie for so long and now the snakes are turning on one another. Jay, if and when you take the stand, remember you will be under oath and steps 2,3,5,6 and 11 of the 12 step program are oaths to God. So Jay, in case you're tempted to lie on stand, know that God is omnipresent. I think some of our elected/appointed officials think God is sleep.

The first agenda item was to authorize the Mayor to sign the FAA grant offer for the FY 2015 FAA-AIP grant application. The order to award a contract in the amount of $93,645.00 for the sewer improvement project on Lower Airport Road was voted down. They have the grant to fix the problem but on the advice of Mayor Winston, they tabled the matter. I guess the residents on Lower Airport Road are getting taxation without representation. There was an order to allow Mr. Charles Camerson to speak to the board regarding the site on the interstate but he was a no show. There was an orcer to approve the minutes. The board voted to allow Mayor Winston sign an Inter-Local Agreement with Lamar County. When Cora Rogers asked for an explanation, Winston told her it was to get dirt and supplies from the county but the state laws says an inter-local agreement includes the following: police protection and detention services;fire protection; streets, roads, and drainage; public health and welfare; parks and recreation; library and museum services; records center services; waste disposal; planning; engineering; administrative functions; public funds investment and comprehensive health care and hospital services. Again, this board blindly votes for something because Ben says it's for one thing but they should have asked to see the contract first. When will they learn?

The board voted to allow Danny Davis to attend a Water Supply Course in Biloxi on September 14-17, 2015 at a cost of $712.95. The department heads gave their reports. The city clerk was bragging about the decrease in worker's comp claims right before it was explained that Danny Davis wasn't present because he was at the hospital with a worker that was injured today. Ben Winston gave his monthly address, asking citizens to clean their property. Has anyone seen his property at both entrances of the city? Maybe he should take his own advice. There was an order to approve unpaid claims for August, 2015 in the amount of $28,244.29 general fund and $15,674.65 WSOM. There was an order to approve the paid claims for the August, 2015 in the amount of $40,325.20 general fund and $34,743.98 WSOM. There was an order to approve payroll for the month of August, 2015 in the amount of $36,604.04.

There was an order to set a public hearing for the 2016 budget. The public hearing is set for September 8, 2015 at 6. After a citizen asked when will the citizens get a chance to review the new budget, he was informed that we can see the budget on the day it's submitted to the auditor, September 15, 2015. I'm going to make a wild guess and say there's no changes or millege rate increases. A year ago, Ben begged the Lamar County Board of Supervisors for help because there wasn't enough money in the budget for police protection. So surely, he had enough sense to raise the millege rate. Who am I kidding, I'm talking about Ben. At times like this, I wish Stephanie Mullings was serving as city clerk. Maybe they need to consider rehiring her. Just last month, Tommy Dukes said everyone deserves a second chance and in this case, I agree. I know there's some that think I am critical of the clerk because I want her position. Based on my years of attending board meetings, I could perform the job; hell, a trained seal from Marine Life could do a better job but that's not the issue. I blog because people need to know what's going on. But that's another blog post for another day. You know they want to put bloggers in jail for expressing their freedom of speech while thieving aldermen get to pay restitution while seeking "treatment". There was an order to discuss the contract with Southern Financial for collection of fines. Chief Cowart tried to explain the costs but the board members didn't comprehend what she was saying. After some brow beating, Alderwoman at Large Cora Rogers convinced the board to approve her attendance to the MML Conference in Starksville from October 13-15, 2015 at a cost of $646.18.

The order to vote to reinstate Betty Speights to full time deputy clerk failed. Alderman Quincy Rogers was the only one voting to reinstate Speights as full time while Kent Crider, Tommy Dukes and Cora Rogers voted no. Chief Cowart explained to the board members that when Betty was working full time, she was collecting $85,000/year but as a part time clerk, she's collecting less than half. Just moments before this agenda item, the board was willing to give hundreds of thousands to a collection agency but refuse to allow Betty to work full time. Prior to the vote, Alderman Tommy Dukes leaned over and said to the Mayor, "ain't she's suing us, why would we let her work full time?" The agenda item to hire Tiffany McClure as a part-time certified officer failec for the lack of a second. Terrold Martin was approved to go from a part-time officer to an auxiliary officer. The board went into executive session but no action was taken. Mayor Winston wanted to amend the agenda to accept the only bid for the Lumberton Hospital (land and building). Mr. Jack Delk, the self-proclaimed owner of assisted living facilities across the state, who was told by the clerk that they would personally notify him when the property is advertised in the paper, made a grand bid of $500. People pay more than that in property taxes but the City of Lumberton was about to give this prime spot away for $500. It seems that Jay McGraw not the only thief on the board. Crider and Dukes were in favor of donating the property for $500 while Rogers and Rogers were against. True to form. Winston refused to break the tie. I will monitor the paper to see when the bidding process opens again. The meeting was adjourned after citizen comments.

  1. I'm surprised you didn't know about Jay stealing money from the register at city hall. We don't know how much he stole but he stole some money.. I think those Menopausal Cunts Merlene and Melissa are the only ones that know the exact amount but I will email you a list of all the people that knew about the theft so you can have them called as rebuttal witnesses after the others lie on the stand. Trying to get the truth out of Merlene and Melissa is larder than getting a working budget in Lumberton.

  2. They know damn well that 32 hours is full time. Melissa is getting benefits but it's going to take an alderman to get that information. Didn't I see her saggy bottom on the video you posted last night? That wrinkled bitch is getting paid to be at the meetings. She didn't attend when she was fired. Any job where you work 32 hours you get benefits. Dumb asses.

  3. I thought they had a restraining order against you. Oh I see what you're doing you want them to react and drag you back into court so you can show how they're overacting about words that are truthful but have no reaction to shoplifting which is sin. You a bold man. You're right. King Kong ain't got nothing on you. Balls of steel.

  4. Why is Wayne, Merlene's husband, always at city hall? Didn't they give her the security cameras for protection. What he's supposed to do with his steady supply of Diet Cokes? I guess he's the new redneck that sits by picking lint off his scrotum because he can't protect the California raisin that shares his bed. They're a pathetic group. Who's watching the drug addict son while they're spending the day and Tuesday night at city hall. No wonder nothing gets done.

  5. How many more years we have for this bs? People please go out and vote on the next election. Lumberton is being sold to the lowest bid or can I say friends of friends. $500.00 for the old hospital that's crazy. You know what lets just give it to them. What about that?

  6. Here's how things work in Lumberton. They don't want to face the facts. Instead they like to point fingers and not deal with the truth. When Johnathan talks about Ben Winston it's because he didn't let him create a website for the city not the fact that Ven does not care about this city. When Jon talk about Cora Rogers it's because she didn't give him a job not the fact that she's easily sidetracked and power hungry. When he talk about Jay being a moody thief it's because he's just mean not the fact that Jay is an addict. When he talk about how dumb Tommy Dukes is it's really about the fact that Tommy wanted to sodomize him. When Jonathan talk about the dumb clerks that won't admit they're in over their heads it's really because he want their job. We always look for reasons not to believe the truth because then we would have to look at ourselves and take responsibility for allowing this to happen. City gall needs to be cleaned out and Daniel might make a good chief but we need to stop blaming the one brave enough to report what's going on. I hear people say that Jonathsn is gay like that's really an issue but if the bravest man in your city is gay then what does that say about the rest of you? You better pay attention before it's too late. Keep Ben in office. He started this mess and he need to see it to the end.

  8. One thing I noticed about this blog. It never mentions who's responsible for the mess at city hall. Miriam Holder shoved Merlene Wall down our throats. She never presented her friend Jonathan Griffith to the board for consideration. There's too many personal agendas in this city. Her vendetta against Strphanie Mullings is partially responsible for the declining condition of this city. She was so desperate to make sure Merlene looked good that she probably was doing most of the work for her. How else can you explain that things were fine until she left office. It shoes that someone else was doing the work and since Ben does not know the law or abide by the law he can't steer that cow in the right direction. I don't blame the previous board for our financial drought but I blame them for the unintelligent outsiders that are ruining city hall. I also blame Ben Winston because he promised us he would rehire Stephanie and that was the only reason I voted for him. He's proven that he's not a man of his word he will never get my vote again.

  9. The fair labor standards act does not define full or part time employees hours it is up to the employer and as for alderman testifying in a personal lawsuit ain't gone happen not needed has nothing to do with the city

    1. I think Aaron Lott is back in Lumberton. It was said that he purchased the Custom Pre-Cast property. There's people that said they saw Ben Winston hauling truckloads of dirt to the property. I was intending to check in it but I was distracted.
