How to Get Away With Incompetence?

Move to Lumberton…lie on your job application and during the interview…get one of the top jobs in Lumberton…hire your friend…lie constantly…blame the software and training…tell more lies…play the victim…become a master of mass distractions…tell more lies…block access to public records...recommend your friend for termination because she caught an alderman stealing….tell more lies…play the victim again…have friend apologize to the thief…use fried to testify in your frivolous court case…realize you have home grown idiots in your corner…breathe a sigh of relief…pray the citizens don’t catch on…continue lying.

That’s basically how to get away with incompetence in Lumberton. Now, I wouldn’t advise you trying that anywhere else or in places that actually want to grow but when you have a group of people that are vested in themselves and not their city; it definitely works. There was a special call meeting last night and I opted to stay home. At this juncture, I can’t deal with the idiocy of Lumberton politics more than once a month. I was, however, concerned about the fact that they failed to give Betty Speights her pay raise and increase in hours. Of course, I thought it was a ploy for them to attempt to change the vote but since the matter was passed and not vetoed ( I don’t think anyone other than Quincy Rogers understand the dynamics and protocol of a veto) they finally set an effective date for her long overdue reinstatement of hours.

While making calls to find out what happened at the board meeting, I found out some details about the audit that was underway at city hall. It seems that the accountant from Wright, Ward, Hatten and Guel has refused to perform the audit of the City of Lumberton because the budget, paperwork and accounts are in total disarray…allegedly! Let me give you insight on this accounting firm. Wright, Ward, Hatten and Guel was another recommendation from the phantom city clerk, Richard Rose, the embattled former city manager of Diamondhead. Interestingly, this is the same accounting firm that performed the audit for the City of Diamondhead. When I Googled them, I was impressed by their work because they were in the news for reporting cities for their errors and failure to adhere to the law. Apparently, the paperwork at Lumberton’s City Hall is so sloppily maintained that this accounting firm does not want to tarnish their good reputation by trying to perform an audit. I wonder how long are the elected officials of Lumberton going to make excuses for the lack of accountability within city hall?

When news of the audit came forth, there were red flags everywhere. I’ve been to several meetings and every time the city prepared for an audit, there were advertisements and the potential auditors came to the board meeting and presented a packet before the board selected the company that would perform the audit. For some reason, everything involving Richard Rose and his “recommendations” are done behind closed doors and are not included in the minutes. Interesting! One thing for certain, there’s no way the City of Lumberton is going to get that $2.5 million dollar Army Corp of Engineer grant without an audit. It look like they’re actually going to have to seek out the services of Nicholson and Company, PLLC and actually get an audit the correct way. We shall see!

  1. If I were Merlene and Cora I would either do the right thing or quit because everyone inGoogle their names I get postings from the Lumberton Informer and the fact that Merlene lost her lawsuit against you proves you are telling the truth. Here's a suggestion, use Merlene's whole name and link a copy of her lost case in every post so they will know she's a loser. Her lies will eventually catch her but I laugh at the fact that she's forever linked as a loser on the internet. Google her and see for yourself. Not how I would want to be viewed in my golden years.

  2. Is Melissa's bestie, Greg, out of town? I haven't seen him nesting in the work area at city hall.

  3. Ok, I have a question the Jackson lady who works for the School has a Felony per Kent in Hattiesburg American how is she working for the School system with a felony and what did she do?

    1. It's strange that none of them disputed Crider's claim that they were felons. I saw the list posted and then read in the Hattiesburg American that their votes didn't count because they had felony records. Now I see that they never tried to clear it up which leads me to believe it was true. If it was me I would be f**k the election. I need to get a lawyer because that mofo said I was a felon. I would need an apology and resignation.

  4. At least they can't say Lumberton residents are racist. They're ig'nant but not racist. A town that's predominately black elected a prejudice white mayor over a qualified intelligent black candidate. For the record, those black voters that stayed home because they don't like Jonathan helped elect Crider too.

  5. I know so now when I see them, I think they are felonies in my mind, so the talk she do concerning other people now we know she has a felony and shouldn't be working at the school that's my opinion.

  6. If Merlene could get a lawyer for her joke of a lawsuit I'm sure the 7 people that Kent Crider called felons could get a libel case against him unless, of course, they're actually felons. If not I would get together and sue him and the City of Lumberton. But all the accused felons are black and probably too lazy to do anything but if one sues and win the others will want a handout.

  7. I'm glad to see you're putting the election behind you. Everyone knows that Merlene and the old lady gang stole the election. You see how happy they were at the swearing in ceremony? I'm friends with one of the ladies and she said none of your church members showed up to vote. On that note. Did they ever pay you for your chairs, tables, and other items filling their building? I guess they'll eventually revise their history and omit the fact that you gave them their first gathering place when you were manager at Woodchase Apartments. I guess you can gain satisfaction in knowing that you made Bishop rich because Community Bank would have never loaned them $150,000 if it wasn't for your upgrades to the building. Trust me. It wasn't because they showed up to sign the loan papers wearing suits.

    1. Do you think the wise master manipulator is going to pay for something he's using? Not. He's a user and think he deserves this and that at others expense. Jonathan was one of his biggest supporters and he cast him aside like a used rag. They used to have awesome praise and worship and those video presentations at the anniversaries were the best I've seen. Let's not forget about the scriptures that were on screen with a click but now they're pre-typed and if the Bishop is tired they don't get done. Now they're playing these bland versions of songs and trying to convince the congregation that they're good but their praise leader never sing at other churches. They were ahead of other churches at one point but now they're just common but don't worry. Gateway refused his gifts too because they can't stop the Dashale show. Usery is happening in the church more than the streets and that's because manipulative people are in the pulpit. On another note. If they paid more than $10,000 for that bad remodel job that required the help of every jack leg carpenter in Lumberton they paid too much. But then again that was the plan. Pay as less as possible so he and his advisors can split the rest while the clueless goats pay the note.

  8. Maybe Kent statement is truth??? They could have felonies. If I didn't have a felony I would've been the first person up to City Hall raising much hell and I would have an Attorney filing the lawsuit for Defamation of Character. This is Definition of Defamation of character occurs when someone makes a false statement about you that causes you some type of harm. The statement must be published (meaning some third party must have heard it), false, and it must result in harm, usually to the reputation. We all know most jobs will not hire you with a Felony and they do read the Hattiesburg American just like DHS read the paper for information on clients.

  9. I agree. If someone was quoted saying I had a felony record I would have raised more sand than Hurricane Katrina. The fact that they did nothing means it must be true. At that point it was no longer about the election it would have been about clearing up my reputation.
