Train Them Up In The Way They Should Go

Board meeting is tonight at Lumberton's city hall board room. Who knows what the night will bring? Will they hire additional workers for the public works department since we are in the midst of grass cutting season? Will they attempt to hire another deputy court clerk, despite the fact that they fired the previous deputy clerk due to budget constraints? Will the matter regarding Ben Winston and the trailer citation finally be settled? Will they address the fact that a certain police officer is always standing around on his cell phone with the police car running? (Especially since there are several members of the board that go through an in-depth investigation of the fuel man accounts for the police department.) Will someone call out the aldermen that had a family member refer to a police officer as a. . . . . . .well, let's just say that it rhymes with Trigger? (That could explain his response, maybe he thought the officer was a horse and got confused or maybe it's just the way he was trained.) I don't know what is going to take place tonight, but I am certain that it will be business as usual.

  1. Are you talking bout Kent Crider? Everybody knows that he's a racist mofo and he's only dealing with Tim and Bobby to get what he wants. Is the hospital going to be for whites only? But he is the representative for Ward 1 and apparently they love his actions and behavior otherwise they would do what they needed to do to get him out of their district.

  2. I'm not defending Kent Crider because we are on very opposite ends of the spectrum, but in his defense, it's possible that he could have thought that the officer was a horse since she's often seen with a horse's tail attached to her head and if you give her a carrot, she'll give you a treat, if you don't believe me ask Snoop.

  3. What I don't understand is, where is the money coming from to pay a consultant about getting Lumberton a hospital when they can't afford to keep employees on the payroll?

  4. I wish I knew where they are getting money from for a hospital consultant? That is a big mystery and the one's who know the answers (Kent, Tim, and Bobby) don't want to address the public so I guess we will remain in the dark until things come to light.

  5. What happened with the police officer and who was it? What alderman has a problem with the police?

  6. I wish I knew how the city can keep affording the fuel for all the personal use and running around being done in fire department vehicles. I wish I had a city vehicle sit in my driveway all the time so I could use it to go to the store, the library, hattiesburg, purvis, or anywhere else I wnated to so i didnt have to buy my own gas, pay my own insurance, buy my own tag, pay for my own vehicle parts and repairs. There was a couple of them sitting at one of their family members houses all day a few weeks ago. That not fire department business. What about when they go to church in fire department vehicles, is that fire department business? How about 2 weeks in a row when they had 4 fire department vehicles all backed up in front of the pawn shop while they all ate at Bad to the Bone? Was that fire department business? Or did they waste city gas to go eat and save their gas AGAIN like they have been doing for so long and getting away with it? Maybe the city should look at the fire department fuel man a little closer and cut some unnecessary cost there too. Make the fire department pay their own fuelman out of the money the city gives them every month. I am sure that will cut back on the joy riding and missuse some

  9. What's going on? Why were you called on so much at the board meeting? They were saying you didn't know what you were talking about, but now it looks like you and the city attorney are BFF's.

  10. For the anonymous poster talking about the fire department, you need to keep your mouth shut until you get your facts straight. Funny how nothing ever gets said about fire department gear that has never been turned in that costs about $2,000 a set. R-1 only gets used for fire deoartment functions or if i have business to tend to a city hall. It is being used right now to transport 7 firefighters to 1st responder class. When you saw fire department equipment at bad to the bone, we were under the porch of the pawn shop having a fund raiser which you would have noticed if you had paid attention. Every since my wife was dignosed with cancer, it is our vehicle making all the runs to hattiesburg, not the cities. Whether you like it or not, i do not nor will i ever abuse my position or the city for personal gain. You can say whatever you want to about the fire department. We can and will defend ourselves. Oh, by the way, if you can tell me which 2 fire department vehicles were sitting at which family members house all day and can prove it, i will apologize to you.

  11. I am glad the fire department vehicle joy-riding was brought up. Is the gas used in these vehicles really part of the city fuelman card group and not part of the fire department's own budget? I see them aimlessly riding up and down the neighborhood streets with children in the vehicles. I would hope that children aren't being brought on fire department business. I've often wondered if riding around looking for fires is standard procedure, especially after the recent WDAM story about our local fire department leaving the scene of a forest fire threatening a home only to have it then burn down. After being exposed to some of the yahoos who volunteer I'd be leary. One called "TJ" visited my home to look around and fill out paperwork for the free smoke detector grant. He never came back and I definitely didn't receive any smoke detectors even though I qualified for them. Made me feel like he was more interested in casing out my home. His wife was driving him around because he apparently has had his license revoked. Yet now I seem him flying down the streets with the red light flashing to answer calls? Is he driving fire department vehicles with no license as well?
