Double Standards

The last few posts have been brought to you by the courtesy of the hood, but I don't want our elected officials to think I've forgotten about them. So, this post is for you. It seems that there's a double standard in this city and it has transcended the barrier of race. I've just learned that Alderwoman Hale has a problem with an officer that goes home for lunch. But it's fine for members of the Lumberton Police Department to sit at her house for the Rebecca Hale Cooking Show and have their meals served to them by Alderwoman Hale, but it's not okay for them to go to their own houses for lunch. I wonder if Chief Fortenberry and any of the former members of the LPD were ever invited to break bread with the Hale's. I seriously doubt it. But apparently, Rebecca Hale has Paula Deen beat in the kitchen. Rebecca has an arsenal of recipes that can make a police officer forget to follow up on an investigation and/or tip. I wonder if it's the one stick of butter, the two cups of flour, the three eggs or the four votes on the board that keeps the "Cops Who Lunch" from taking action against those selling oxy. For some reason, no one on the Lumberton Police Department seems interesting in investigating the alleged assault against Moody Hendricks. I wonder why?
And once again, Bobby Gibson has managed to violate all types of laws and tried to take over the investigation of the vandalism that took place at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church. I've heard that he wanted the lead investigating officer to fingerprint the church, but the officer told him that the crime scene had been contaminated. Gibson allegedly made several calls to the officer, ordering him to fingerprint the church, and he also allegedly told him that if he was not willing to do so that he (Gibson) would call in the Lamar County Sheriff's Office. When I heard that, I had to ask them to repeat what was just said, did he say he (Gibson) would call the Lamar County Sheriff's Office? So, is Gibson the Chief of the Lumberton Police Department? Apparently, they already had a suspect and they wanted a fingerprint to prove their case, but everybody knows,(well, everybody except Bobby Gibson) that they would need to get the fingerprints of everyone that ever went through the doors of Sweet Beulah and still that wouldn't be enough evidence to convict the vandal. But it's obvious that the person or persons that committed the crime knew that Sweet Beulah didn't lock their doors. I guess they took the phrase "The doors of the church are open" literally. I was hesitant to blog about this church again, but rest assured, I'm not worried about anyone grabbing me by the arm and telling me that they would kill me because it would bring a whole nother (yes I meant to say nother) meaning to the laying on of hands. But back to the subject at hand, wouldn't Gibson's action be considered as interfering with an investigation. Didn't we see charges filed against Mayor Holder when she simply asked about an investigation. Now we have an alderman, that's not supposed to be involved in the day to day activities of any department, allegedly telling a police officer how to conduct his investigation. I guess having the controlling vote has it's privileges.
OAN. . it was also reported that moments after the fights that took place last week, Bobby Gibson allegedly rode up in the Deaf-Ann mobile like McGruff the Crime Dog and started questioning people that were leaving the scene of the crime. Again, he's overstepping his duties as a alderman. Gibson signed off on the arrest of Mayor Holder for violations he's allegedly committing over and over again, but that's the standard or shall I say, double standard of the City of Lumberton. I'm not a psychic, but I predict that at least one officer will be brought before the board to be terminated at the next board meeting on February 7, 2012.

  1. Moody was beat up by Rebecca's husband, who's gone from growing marijuana to selling prescription meds, but if Moody didn't press charges then there's nothing the police department can do and I'm sure it don't hurt that they're eating lunch at the drug king pins house. Now I know why Rebecca was pushing so hard to keep the medical insurance for the aldermen, despite it being the worst choice for the city, pappa needs a new source of income. Got oxy?

  2. It seems that you are being supportive of an officer, you better be careful, the Byrd-brained crew like to tell everyone that you don't like any cops.

  3. I hope it is the same officer that has been leaking false information to you and making you look like the fool, but than again it has been entertaining!!!

    1. I wonder what officer that could be. . it's changed so much over time. . but rest assured, whatever information I'm getting, I will continue to get despite the efforts of keeping it under wraps. WTBS. . if the info I'm blogging about is incorrect and/or foolish then why are YOU still reading?

  4. Jonathan, they're hoping that they can create doubt by questioning your blog without providing any proof to support their claims. I've noticed on the That's Entertainment post, someone, more than likely Byrd or Hobson is doing a little back and forth with you. In that instance, you should require them to sign in or post their name or post it to the Lumberton Facebook page if they have so much to say on the subject, but more than likely, they're cowards and that's why they post anonymously.

  5. OMG! Who's leaking info now. First they said it was New York, then they said it was Franklin, then they said it was. . when will the cycle end. They also said you were getting info from the clerk's office. Was that you and Sue behind the dumpsters last night at Big K? Regardless of the accusations or mudsling, is it true that Rebecca Hale was hosting lunch hour with the cops? WTBS, when are you going to get back to posts about Stephanie, I miss the humorous dialog and her continued pleas of being innocent.

    1. It doesn't matter what they say about who's leaking information. There's the belief that if I don't mention the names of certain police officers, it must be because they're leaking/sharing info. But the info will still get out despite who gets terminated or not. And no, I wasn't behind the dumpster with Sue, we were over in Roy's spot at Wood-Hinton Park. (lol) More than likely, it's true that Rebecca is cooking for her boys on the police department but I didn't get an invitation so that's why I said allegedly. Sorry that you miss the posts about Stephanie, but if you're a reader of the blog, then you know I said I wouldn't discuss her, but would focus on the antics of the ones that empower the clerks to do what they do. In case you haven't noticed, it's been three months since the board voted to hire an accountant to provide check and balances for the City of Lumberton's finances, and the board haven't done anything to bring in an account because they don't want to know if there are any improprities taking place in the area of finance. But sticking their head in the ground is not going to bring about any changes. Hopefully, the citizens of Lumberton will grow tired of the out-of-control spending, the loss of money in WSOM (I wonder if they will blame this year's loss on the closing of Cooper) and the continued increases in water bill rates. #onlytimewilltell

I'm really tired of all the innuendo, is someone trying to say that Daniel is the cop that's giving you an insider tip. I'm not going to beat around the bush, are you getting your information about the police department from Daniel?

  7. How are they getting info from Daniel when he's not even at work? It has to be insiders there NOW not him!!!! That 's the problem with LUMBERTON now...POINTING FINGERS! There's a leak but it's someone whos is working NOW in city hall!!!!! HINT HINT!! And on a lighter note, was wondering WHY it takes LPD and the fire truck to put out a burning squirrel on Myrick today 2/3/2012 at 8:40 am.. I mean Really a PAID officer and the fire truck all that expense to put out a burning squirrel, and all this during the rain.. GO figure? lol I didn't realize lumberton had the money to spend on a squirrel...lol

  8. And one more thing, This says it has to be approved which is fine. But if your really reading and approving them why do you have no cursing as a guideline but allow them to curse anyway.. That's not fair to ALL!
