Judgement Day and Election Day: Exercising Our Freedom
Right now, I’m getting ready to go to the polls to exercise my voting rights. It’s my hope that on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, Ben Winston will still be the Mayor of Lumberton and I will have the freedom to give a untethered review of the regular scheduled board meeting. Regardless of the outcome, this experience has changed me in ways I didn’t think was imaginable. I didn’t think that taking a stand for truth would be so taxing. I also realized that people will support you from a distance but don’t expect them to step out of their comfort zones. Most times, when you dare to tell the truth, expose corruption and call a thing a thing, you’re generally on the front lines…..alone.
I plan on attending the regular scheduled board meeting and I will leave there to go to the Lamar County Circuit Clerk’s Office to witness the vote count for the Lamar County races. I encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote. Hopefully, I will see some of you at the polls or at the board meeting. Once I get news of how my case went, I will probably post a video. Thank you for your support and hopefully the information I provided will help you make an informed vote.
I plan on going to vote after Story Time at the library. I also plan on going to the meeting tonight. :) I, too, hope Ben Winston is still mayor tomorrow and hope to hear the outcome of the lawsuit today! It's ridiculous that you were made to wait for a decision. As RileyAnn would say, that's preposterous!
