Lies vs. Truth

What a week, what a week. At this point, what is a lie and what is the truth? For months, Mayor Ben Winston, boasted about a $2.5 million dollar Army Corp of Engineers grant. Just this past Tuesday, Mayor Ben Winston announced that he, Alderman Jay McGraw, Alderwoman Cora Rogers and Mrs. Kathleen Bogle went to Vicksburg, MS to sign some sort of paperwork. This Tuedsay, Winston also announced that the City of Lumberton was approved for a $600,000 CAP loan. Well, after watching WDAM, it was revealed that most of the information Mayor Winston was proudly announcing at the board meeting was untrue.

Winston's web of deceit began to unravel on Sunday, July 5, 2015 when his friend/ business partner Paul Ockmond accused me of telling half truths. Ockmond said that I wouldn't report the fact that Winston and McGraw secured $600,000 for the matching grant funds. On Monday, July 6, 2015 Ben Winston went to a meeting of the Lamar County Board of Supervisors asking if they could make a donation towards the matching grant funds. Warren Byrd, District 2 Supervisor questioned Winston by saying he thought they already had the money. Winston responded saying they're working on it. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 Winston announced during his monthly mayoral address that we had the money for the matching grant funds and we were waiting on approval from another grant for $175,000. On Sunday Paul Ockmond said Ben got the money. On Monday Ben Winston told the Lamar County Board of Supervisors that he's working on getting the money and on Tuesday Mayor Winston told the citizens he had the money and signed the paperwork. Three stories in three days. Which one is the truth?

When WHLT reported news of the grant on February 18, 2015, Winston said the grant would be used to fix Lumberton's infrastructure. On April 17, 2015, Winston told a reporter from the Hattiesburg American that Lumberton was approved for a $450,000 loan from MDA (Mississippi Development Authority) and he was expecting a $175,000 line of credit from the South Mississippi Planning District. On July 8, 2015, WDAM ran a story saying that the MDA gave Lumberton the approval to apply for a CAP loan. Again, three stories. Which is a lie and which is the truth? I've said it before and I'll say it again, when you tell the truth, you don't need a good memory.

For months, we have been fed a cock and bull story. After some research, it was revealed that Lumberton will not be able to apply for a CAP loan until 2016. Whenever a person tells a lie, it's hard to believe anything else they say. It seems like Winston was planning on robbing Peter to pay Paul. Grants are awarded for specific reasons. Why did Ben think he can take the funds from one sewer improvement grant and pay the matching funds for another grant? That's not possible. If that bone head decision don't bring in the feds, I don't know what will. It's ironic that Paul Ockmond accused me of telling half-truths but it was his friend that was guilty of that offense. If you're willing to manipulate and lie about government issued funds, what else are you willing to do. It also amazes me that Jay McGraw, Tommy Dukes and Cora Rogers are supporting Winston's web of deceit. Interestingly, this is the same group that's planning on putting their hands on a bible, raising their right hand and swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth when called to testify against me in a civil case. I guess it becomes easier to create fictious testimony once you've attempted to defraud the government. Scratch a lie and find a thief.

  1. All of Merlene the Thundercunt witnesses are liars. This may be a way to get the facts on public record. Make sure your attorney bring up all of this so the state will have a record. They thought this case was for one thing but it's going to expose other stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Ben Winston paid Ducker to file the case for Merlene. They were digging a ditch for you and they're the one that's going to fall in it.
