Cautiously Optimistic: Jonathan F. Griffith for Mayor of Lumberton

Today is Election Day in the City of Lumberton. As we head to the polls, we are making a decision to either move the City of Lumberton forward or keep it chained to the past. What is needed is fresh leadership and new perspectives. Our city has had enough of people that are running for office because someone told them it was their turn. Well, it’s OUR TIME and we can reposition Lumberton for advancement. I know what this city is, I know what this city has been and I know what it can become with the guidance, leadership, accountability and transparency.

There wasn’t much time to campaign because of the process of setting the date for the Special Election was delayed. However, I made an effort to speak with potential voters face to face but it was impossible for me to speak with everyone. It is my hope that the voters were not offended by my use of social media to explain my platform and outline my blueprint to help Move Lumberton Forward.

Our city deserves more and it’s time that we endeavor to take Lumberton to the next level—no longer a drive-thru location but a destination city. Together we can harness the power of our community and the potential of our city and watch progress abound. I’m ready to get to work! Will you join me? I need your support and your vote to make this happen. Help Elect Jonathan F. Griffith, Mayor of Lumberton.

Thank you for your support!

  1. I went to vote this morning and I see we have signs that I have never seen stating you can't campaign within 150 feet of the polls. What the Hell we all as voters know you can't campaign within so many feet of the polls so why this Election? Plus why do we all ways have these old ladies working the polls and why we choose this one little lady who can't find your name and talk loud like you can't hear or doesn't know your name. Why is Merlene (you can't trust her) at the polls. She should have lots work at the City Hall. I hate written ballots, hope we have a check and balance system a box or two can come up missing. Trust no man. Praying the new Mayor is Jonathan Griffith. Moving the City forward.

  2. I see they're pulling out all the tricks today. We know you can csmpaign at the polling station. Why have the signs now? You mean to tell me they could get a more diverse group to work the polls today? I hope y'all get out and vote for Jonathsn because they're trying to steal this election.

  3. Don't let them slow poll workers frustrate you. I hope Jonathan has a copy of the registered voters because the person that signed before me has been dead for 3 years. I wonder how that happened?

  4. Get a copy of the signature sheet because I see dead people voting and Bruce Willis was no where in sight.

  5. Merlene working at the polls is like the fox guarding the hen house. DO NOT TRUST HER

  6. I want to ask a question. Why is Merlene working at the polls. She is up to no good. We all know they will use dirty tricks to steal the election. I hope I am not the only person who recognized this. She is trying to have the last laugh.

  7. I'm praying for you because they're trying to steal this election. They have Merlene as the watchdog. All the women working the polls today are from the Antebellum Era. I can't believe they couldn't find one black person to work the polls. When you're elected you need to look into changing that because I don't trust them.

  8. I just voted and I can't believe who is working there, that is not right. Also I want to know why is there Chinese people selling things at the Shell station. I know they don't have a permit. They are not supposed to be there. One more reason why that Shell station is a joke. First they are selling drugs behind the counter and everybody knows it. Why do you think they didn't do anything about the thefts.

  9. Where did those signs come from? 150 feet or yards??? Sad!!!!!

  10. I wasn't going to say anything but it's bothering me. I was behind Mrs. Voncile Richardson and Cora Rogers was helping her cast her vote. Mrs. Voncile told her she wanted to vote for Jonathan and Cora told her no and said she needed to vote for the first one on the ballot because he's the one we need and Mrs. Voncile did what Cora told her. I will never deal with that funky bitch ever again. Dirty monkey. White man's bed wench. Anybody taking their child to Rogers Child Care is a fool.

    1. That's fraud and she could go to jail for that. Someone needs to get an official report that she did this to a voter. I would have spoken up very loudly right then and there. Oh I pray for relief for the honest people of Lumberton.

  11. If that is true then Cora Rogers just committed a felony.

  12. Someone needs to demand that all names be accounted for and proven that they're voters of Lumberton. Ask why are y'all doing hand written votes, even Baxterville has voting machines. Who appointed the over seeing committee, I thought that decision had to come from outside the area. Demand copies of everything! Ask around and find out who has not voted, there's more people than that in Lumberton. Praying for you to win and the truth to come out.

  13. You would have WON OUTRIGHT if the people had come out to VOTE!!! Why didn't everyone vote? We need to get together on this.

  14. People talk about the City of Lumberton and how bad the City is, we have the Person with the Knowledge who can move the City forward. Hate is strong but don't blame the White man you lazy and back stabbing People, blame yourself and stop talking bad about Lumberton because you as Blacks are the problem. You stayed home and not voted to prove a point but you are the Dummies. That's what Merlene, Ben, Cora, Tommy, Jay and their haters wanted same hate different times and different faces. Only a little over 300 people voted????? So many People lost their life so you have the right to vote. Are you tried of the same Politics mouth and no action. Kent has had a chance to prove himself can we see what Jonathan has to offer???????? Can we as a City come together for the city and not for your own personal agenda?????
