Where In The World Is Andrew Beamon?

Just a few months ago, the board found a way around the contract they have with building inspector, Andrew Beamon. They voted to hire Johnny Buckley as an alternate building inspector so they could have a back up in case Beamon was not available. The board said that Buckley and Beamon would be called on a rotation system, but at the last board meeting, it was revealed that the city clerk has been calling Johnny Buckley exclusively. The board had an issue with Beamon getting paid for multiple inspections, but after looking over the claims docket, they don't seem to have a problem with Buckley getting paid for multiple inspections.
You may be wondering why I'm taking about building inspections? Well, at Tuesday's board meeting, there was an issue between two neighbors. One neighbor said that his neighbor was cited for storage of cars on property adjacent to his property and the neighbor said he was never cited. The board began to ask both of the men questions, and that's when Johnny Buckley's name came up. Bobby Gibson said that he would get the matter fixed as soon as Buckley was feeling better. That's when it was revealed that the city clerk was no longer calling Andrew Beamon. The public was told that Buckley had recently had back surgery, but since Buckley and Beamon were supposed to be called on alternate inspections, why didn't they refer this matter to Andrew Beamon? The reason Beamon is not being called is the very reason why Gibson, Crider, Hale and Johnson voted to hire Buckley in the first place; they wanted to find a way to get around the contract that Beamon has with the city. They can't fire him so they just make sure he's never called to do any inspections. But there are some serious issues that will arise from this dispute between neighbors. First of all, the neighbor can't be cited for storage of items on someone else's property. If you recall, this is the same scenario the city dealt with when a citation was issued to Ben Winston. The city didn't get any money from the storage of the trailers, it was not pleasant to see at both entrances of the city, and the board did everything, including disbanding the planning and zoning committee to make this issue go away. I wonder how these hypocrites are going to address this matter now that it involves neighbors. Will they bend the law for this person like they did for Ben Winston? Only time will tell.
